California Privacy Rights
Last updated: June 26, 2026This page describes your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) (collectively, "California privacy laws") as a user of the uMaintain application (the "Application") developed by Chad Wentz ("Service Provider," "we," or "us").
Your Rights Under California Law
1. Right to Know
You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and "share" about you. Within the last 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers: Email address (if you create an account), Firebase User ID, device advertising ID
- Commercial information: Subscription status, in-app purchase history (if any)
- Internet/electronic activity: App usage data, crash logs, session interactions (collected via Firebase Analytics)
- Inferences: Aggregated usage patterns to improve the Application
We do not collect sensitive personal information (e.g., precise geolocation, biometrics, health data).
2. Right to Delete
You have the right to request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions. You can delete your data at any time:
- In the app: Profile → Data & Privacy → Delete Account (includes a 30-day grace period)
- Via web: umaintain.app/delete-account
- Clear app data: umaintain.app/clear-data
- Email us: [email protected]
3. Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing
The CCPA defines "sale" broadly to include sharing data for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. However, we use Google Analytics for Firebase, which transmits anonymized usage data to Google. This may be considered "sharing" under California law.
To opt out of this data sharing:
- Uninstall the Application to halt all data collection
- Disable ad tracking in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads)
- Email us at [email protected] and we will process your opt-out request
We do not and will not sell the personal information of minors under 16 years of age.
4. Right to Correct
You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you. You can update your email and account information within the Application at any time.
5. Right to Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your California privacy rights. This means we will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised your rights.
6. Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information
We do not collect or process sensitive personal information as defined under California law.
Categories of Personal Information Disclosed for a Business Purpose
In the preceding 12 months, we have disclosed the following categories of personal information to our service providers (Google Firebase) for business purposes:
- Identifiers (Firebase User ID, device ID)
- Internet/electronic activity (app usage, crash data)
These disclosures are made solely to operate and improve the Application. Our service providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any independent purpose.
How to Submit a Request
To exercise any of your California privacy rights, you may submit a verifiable consumer request by:
- Email: [email protected]
- In-app: Profile → Data & Privacy
We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond to your request within 45 calendar days. If we need additional time, we will notify you in writing.
You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will require verification of your identity and the agent's authorization.
